Mapping the Spectrum:
Current and Emerging Perspectives in Linguistics, Literature and Culture
Welcome to the website of the 3rd International Conference on Linguistics, Literature and Culture. This biennial Conference is organised by the English Studies Section, School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia and will be held at The Royale Bintang Penang, Weld Quay, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia, from 26-28 November 2014. The theme for this year's conference is Mapping the Spectrum: Current and Emerging Perspectives in Linguistics, Literature and Culture and aims to provide a platform towards achieving the following objectives:
We welcome papers for 20-minute presentations which reflect any of these objectives, or which in other ways present viable and thought-provoking interpretations of our conference theme.
Sub-themes for presentation may include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

- To examine current and emerging perspectives on language, literature and culture that employ a variety of critical lenses.
- To explore current and emerging trends in both cross-disciplinary and discipline-specific work in the fields of linguistics, literary and cultural studies.
- To investigate the theoretical and pedagogical implications of new ideas, theories, perspectives and practices in the fields of linguistics, literature and culture.
- To enhance cross cultural dialogue and stimulate discussion on and engagement with a variety of perspectives and approaches in linguistic, literary and cultural studies from the various regions of the world.
